Driving Directions

If you will be driving to the Charleston area, you will probably be coming from one of two major roads, Interstate 26 (I26) or Route 17. Here are instructions for each route:

I-26 East
- Take I-26E to Exit 221A (Rt 17).
- Follow Route 17 staying in the right lane.
- Follow the signs to MUSC, which will take you to Rutledge Avenue.

Route 17 South
- Route 17S will come over the Cooper River, on a new eight lane cable-stayed bridge (called the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge).
- Follow Route 17 staying in right lane.
- Follow the signs to MUSC which will take you to Rutledge Avenue.

Route 17 North
- Route 17N will come through a suburban area referred to as West Ashley.
- Cross the Ashley River Bridge and follow the signs to MUSC.
